Feeling stuck in life? Here are three tricks to help you get unstuck from any project and make progress today!

Feeling Stuck in Life? | nourishedplanner.com #getunstuck #tips #inspiration

If you’re like most of us, you’ve probably had a period in your life where you felt stuck. Whether in the big things, like a lack of purpose or direction or even the small daily things like getting stuck on a presentation, feeling overwhelmed by a never-ending house project or simply being overcome by your piling to-do list.

Most likely, your mind is racing in a million directions but the one direction that you are supposed to be working towards. You’re completely overwhelmed by the obstacles of life that you can’t imagine how you’ll push forward.

There’s no question, being stuck is like quicksand. The more you try to get out, the deeper you sink.  No matter how big or small the task is, being stuck in a rut is frustrating. There really is no greater time-suck than feeling like you’ve lost control of productivity which steals all motivation. But don’t worry, there is a solution to overcome being stuck.

The first thing we must overcome is our greatest mistake, resisting being stuck. When we resist what is, we suffer. Sometimes the only way through this is to accept what is. To let it be, conquer your mind, regain your motivation and keep moving forward in other areas.

Here are three simple tricks to pull you out from being stuck and help you make progress today!

1. Take a Break

Life isn’t all about accomplishing things. Sometimes it’s as simple as resting and letting things be. When you feel stuck, overwhelmed and uncertain about how to get out of a situation or break through, the best thing you can do is take a break. Taking a mental, physical and emotional break from wherever you find yourself stuck can give you a new mindset. It can open your eyes to see a new perspective which can also give you a new direction.

Set it down, put it aside, walk away, do whatever you need to do to find a few quiet moments or even days of rest. Then go back to it with a fresh perspective, a good mindset and rested body. Who knows, you may see things completely different and pull yourself right out of whatever it is you feel stuck in.

2. Change Your Focus

Being stuck doesn’t mean you can just walk away for good. A break can be helpful but at some point you still have to go back and finish what you started. Remember, you’re not a quitter. To empower you to keep going, stop whatever it is you’re doing, take a break and complete a small achievable task.

Something you can do that doesn’t take a lot of mind power but yet is completely achievable. This will boost your motivation and make you feel productive again. Maybe you take a break and mow the lawn, pay the stack of bills waiting for you, do a little meal prep, wash the dishes or clean out your inbox.

Find a simple task that is achievable, get it done and let it reignite your motivation.

3. Break it Down

Take a few moments before you start back into the project or task to break it down in smaller sections. Often it’s not the project or task itself that holds you back but the unknown path to accomplishing it. Making a clear plan with a clear direction can help beat the overwhelm of trying to come up with it as you go.

Like the old saying goes, the only way to eat an elephant is one bite at a time. Take time to break down the big task into smaller more achievable steps. This can help keep you moving in the right direction with a clear focus and a positive mind.

Keep Your Focus

In the end remember, you will get the project done. There is nothing too overwhelming that you can’t handle. You may have to delegate, change your routine or even run ideas off another person, but you will accomplish what you’ve set out to do. Don’t let it get the best of you! Learning to overcome being stuck can be one of the greatest transformations in your productivity!
