It’s Monday morning, you’re alarm is blaring, you’re barely stirring and yet already dreading what lies ahead. You awaken to the reality that you have a morning appointment, 37 new e-mails waiting in your inbox, your child forgot their lunch, and it’s your turn for afternoon carpool home from school.
After you somehow stumble through all of the above and the rest of your daily grind, you arrive home at the end of the day to an empty refrigerator and a very hungry family. Chaos and hunger are an evil combination, especially on Mondays.
We know that getting started is the hardest part. Unfortunately Mondays are inherently defeating and overwhelming. But what if we could move beyond that and see the opportunity that lies ahead in the week? To get beyond the Monday blues, and awaken to the possibility of success in the week that lies ahead. To take the week head on, fully ready to dominate this week and take ownership of each decision.

Here are seven nourished tips to jump-starting your week.
1. Plan Your Weekly Tasks
Stuffy. We know, planning just sounds so stuffy. But it’s true across the board whether you are smiling or cringing, that planning is a critical if not most essential component of living the life you want and making the most of the week. The truth is, a goal without a plan really becomes a mess of twists, turns and the unexpected. Detours that are working to derail you rather than catapult you.
But don’t worry just sitting down for a short period of time over the weekend, planning your week, will go a long ways in how successful each day is. It doesn’t have to take long or become strict or rigid. Just setting clear direction for the week makes the path strait and narrow.
And may we suggest you end the endless to-do lists?
You know what I’m talking about. You write it at the start of the day, maybe ten task only to realize by noon you’ve added five more and only marked off two. Are you drowning in your own to-do list? First, let us inform you, you are not alone. Let your breath of fresh air come in as you learn that the to-do’s never end and instead of focusing on everything that didn’t make the cut, just prioritize.
Be picky and choosy about what must get done and max it out at five to-do’s per day. Life shouldn’t get lost in a to-do list. We all wish for more time but be cautious for time is the only commodity we can’t get more of. So to ensure you’re enjoying the time you do have. Nix the endless to-do list and prioritize it.
2. Plan Your Weekly Menu
There is nothing worse than getting to the end of a long work day only to realize your refrigerator is nearly empty and you have no plans for supper. Oh and don’t forget the whining and complaining family who has moved beyond hunger and right into angry. Don’t worry, meals don’t have to be as stressful as we make them. Just take some time while you’re planning your week to plan your menu as well.
Remember, food is our life source. The very fuel we need to plow through our to-do list like it doesn’t stand a chance. So make this a priority and know that planning and any amount of preparation is going to save you hours and loads of stress during the work week. The good news is the Nourished Planner makes meal planning a priority, nicely reminding you daily to get the job done.
3. Honor Your Own Work Style
We’re on your side when it comes to work style. The truth of the matter is there is no right or wrong way to work. Sure there may be more effective ways. But regardless of how you work, honor it. Morning or evening, in a quiet room or with the music blaring, create space that makes you groove to your own beat. Owning your story, means owning how you work. And the good news is the planner is created for you to add your own twist. Your own style leaving the door open to creativity no matter how you work. It’s in your hands make the most of it and love the process.
4. Make Use of Whitespace
Speaking of creativity, using whitespace, space of nothingness will actually ignite your fire creating a spark ready to blaze forth. But creating whitespace means ending the busy, taking time and making space for you to think, be still and ponder life. To make plans, create dreams and ultimately get a glimpse of you future. Using the blank pages of the planner, choose to create whitespace and use the whitespace to envision your dreams, goals and future.
5. Schedule A Clean Up Day
Do you know the feeling of getting to the end of the week only to realized how over booked and over scheduled you were? Do you rarely get it all done? We feel you on this. We think and fully believe that we can accomplish more than we really can. Thanks to the principal of real life. Things happen, kids get sick and you get stuck in traffic. To ensure that you’re not overbooking and over scheduling your life. Try scheduling a clean up day. A day where nothing is scheduled, like absolutely nothing and instead use it as a day to clean up all the tasks that yet to be done. It’s could be the most stress-free day of the week.
This also goes along with your meal plan. Use a clean-up day for leftovers, something quick or to move a meal that didn’t happen ensuring that you keep your budget in tact as well as your waistline. Clean-up days are good for all areas of life.
6. Take a Stand For Yourself
This should have been number one because lets face it, without our health we have nothing to offer. Not to mention our goals, dreams and health is only ours. No one else’s. So to make the best of life, to fully accomplish all that you set out to, to live your best life you have to become your best self. This means taking care of you first. Its simple things that make big differences in your health. And with your health you can begin to do impossible things.
It’s choosing to set your own agenda, or at least create space to do something you love each day. Pushing out the non-essentials for something that is essential and that is you. If we stay focused on ourselves, on our health and our joy we actually have more to give.
7. Make Memories
Life seems to be traveling at the speed of light and we only remember a very small faction of it. In fact of the 20,000 thoughts we are estimated to have per day most of us can only remember 10-50 of them. Of those thoughts 90% of them are declared negative. Sigh. Obviously human nature is against us. So to fight the good fight and cling to happiness, make memories. Or at least keep record of them by recording daily, something you want to store for the rest of your life.
The Nourished Planner is the ultimate tool to ruling your life. Taking a stand and writing the pages of the book you call your own.
Slow down. Enjoy life. Make memories. The joy of life has never been closer.
